He Was Sure He Was Just a Drug User. Rise Showed Ransom He Had a Purpose.

Ransom Rawls is from Big Spring, Texas. He came to the Rise Discipleship home carrying two things: a severe addiction to methamphetamine, and no real sense of where he stood in life.

He had come to believe that being a drug user in his local community was simply who he was. That was the whole story he had of himself.

A Different Story

The home changed that story. What Ransom learned there was simple and life-altering.

"I learned that God is real, and that I have a place in life other than being a drug user. I have a purpose and a will other than what I knew."

He also learned the thing that would keep him steady going forward: as long as he keeps God in his life, he stays on the right path, and he can hold onto that truth.

What Comes Next

Ransom's plans after the home are grounded and clear. He wants to plug into a local church, keep God first, and get onto a work grind, learning what it means to work while letting God guide his path into the next step.

His thank-yous go out to Anthony G and all the brothers in the home, the ones who helped him every time he wanted to leave, and every time he was going through it, and guided his path back to the one he needed to be on.

If This Is You

Ransom believed his addiction was his whole identity. It wasn't. If that's where you are, or if someone you love has stopped believing they're more than their worst habit, don't wait. It's free, a real person answers day or night, and it starts with one call.
